While the US News media continues to focus on bad news and gold medals, the USA Women had a spectacular Olympics in which Jesse Diggins won a Silver and Bronze Medal, and her teammates finished close behind. These are unprecedented results for the the USA Women. And in the Men’s 50k Marathon, Scott Patterson placed 10th only 36 seconds behind the winners. The very young USA Team looks good for the future.

For our high school and middle school athletes who might feel like placing 26th or 41st or 60th at State is a failure or not that good— look at the Olympic results! The top Russian and World Cup leader had a bad race and dropped out. Some of the best skiers in the World finished 35th, 49th, etc. It is all relative. Everyone who Races is challenging themselves to be be better on any given day.
